Member Agreement

Terms & Conditions

Kandō membership is extended as a gesture of appreciation and trust. These Terms exist to set shared expectations and support a consistently thoughtful experience for all.

1. Membership

  • Members agree to pay a $100 activation fee and monthly dues of $25 a month automatically charged to the card on file.

  • Membership is limited in number and offered at Kandō’s discretion, informed by the recommendations of existing members. Membership does not convey any ownership interest, voting rights, or governance authority.

  • Membership privileges, access, and offerings may evolve over time and are subject to change.

2. Access & Use of the Space

  • Kandō was created as a place to linger—a space for beautiful drinks, thoughtful hospitality, and a slower rhythm.

  • Dining at MÄS

  • Guests dining at MÄS are always welcome to visit Kandō before or after their meal. There is no entry fee, and a visit to Kandō is considered an extension of the MÄS dirning experience.

  • Visiting Without Dining

  • For guests not dining at MÄS, Kandō operates as a members-forward lounge. Non-member access may be available when capacity allows, with priority reserved for members. This approach helps preserve the intimate feel of the space and supports the level of service, staffing, and programming Kandō is designed for.

3. Membership Benefits

Membership is intended for guests who wish to make Kandō a regular part of their life—a familiar place to drop in, bring friends, and feel at home.
Membership may include:

  • Priority access and reservations

  • Invitations to member-only events, tastings, and offerings

  • A more seamless, relaxed experience overall

Kandō may refine or evolve benefits and offerings to maintain the spirit and value of the membership.

4. Guests

  • Members are welcome to host guests. Members are expected to remain present with their guests at all times and are responsible for their guests’ conduct and consumption.

  • Members are trusted to invite guests who will appreciate the space and contribute positively to the environment. Guests may be recommended for membership after one visit.

  • Kandō reserves the right to manage capacity and seating as needed.

5. House Standards

Kandō is a shared space built on care, respect, and hospitality.

  • Members and guests are expected to:

  • Treat staff and other guests with respect

  • Maintain a calm, welcoming atmosphere

  • Use the space thoughtfully

Behavior that is disruptive, unsafe, or disrespectful may result in management intervention, including suspension or termination of membership.

6. Photography

  • Personal, non-commercial photography is permitted. Members may share photos on their personal social media accounts.

  • Members are asked to be mindful of the comfort and privacy of others. Kandō may restrict photography during private events or special circumstances.

7. Accountability

  • Members are responsible for the conduct and consumption of their guests.

  • Kandō staff and management may address concerns in real time as they arise. Repeated or serious issues may result in suspension or termination of membership.

8. Credit Card on File & Billing Authorization

Members are required to maintain a valid credit card on file at all times to keep membership active.

By maintaining membership, the Member authorizes Kandō to:

  • Automatically charge the card on file for all food, beverage, retail, and service purchases

  • Apply an automatic 20% gratuity to all purchases

  • Apply all required taxes and fees, including the Ashland Food & Beverage Tax

Charges may be processed at the time of purchase or at the close of the Member’s visit. Members agree to keep payment information current at all times.

9. Communication

  • Members consent to receive email and SMS communications related to reservations, events, and service updates. Members may opt out of non-essential communications at any time.

10. Status

  • To maintain active membership status, members must visit the club at least once per season.

11. Liability

Members and guests enter the premises at their own risk. Kandō is not responsible for loss, damage, or injury except in cases of gross negligence.

12. Termination

Membership may be ended at any time:

  • By the Member, with written notice to admin@kando.social

  • By Kandō, at its discretion. Members will be notified by email of cancellation

Upon termination, all membership privileges immediately cease.

13. Acceptance

  • By checking the acknowledgment box, the Member confirms that they have read, understood, and agree to these Terms & Conditions.

  • These Terms may be updated from time to time. Continued use of Kandō following any updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
